GAS & PRESSURE SYSTEMS
Correct pressure is part of correct dispense.
Beer Care provides practical gas and pressure-system support for commercial draught beer dispense systems across North Wales and the North West.
Pressure problems can affect dispense performance, product quality and system behaviour. Beer Care can assess the relevant equipment and wider dispense setup to identify the practical next step.
PART OF THE WHOLE SYSTEM
Pressure settings do not operate in isolation.
Gas and pressure form part of the wider draught beer dispense system.
The correct setup depends on the equipment, product, system layout and operating conditions rather than a single universal setting.
SYSTEM FACTORS
01 Dispense equipment
02 System layout
03 Product requirements
04 Cooler / cellar conditions

WHEN DISPENSE DOESN’T LOOK RIGHT
Similar symptoms can come from different causes.
These signs can point to pressure, cooling, product, line or equipment issues. Avoid repeated regulator changes and arrange a system assessment instead.
01
POOR / INCONSISTENT DISPENSE
The product does not pour consistently or as expected.
02
EXCESSIVE FROTHING
Foaming may require investigation of the wider dispense setup.
03
SLOW DISPENSE
Flow appears lower than expected.
04
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PRODUCTS
Some products behave differently from others on the same system.
05
REPEATED ADJUSTMENTS
The system seems to require frequent manual intervention or resetting.
06
FAULTS AFTER SYSTEM CHANGES
Problems begin after equipment, product or layout changes.
IMMEDIATE SAFETY GUIDANCE
If you suspect a gas leak or immediate safety risk, treat that first.
If there is a suspected gas leak or another immediate safety concern, follow the venue’s emergency procedures and keep people away from the affected equipment or area.
Do not wait for Beer Care before dealing with an immediate safety risk. Do not attempt repairs or regulator adjustments unless you are competent and authorised to do so.
For ordinary dispense or pressure-system faults without an immediate safety concern, contact Beer Care for technical support.
FAULT FINDING
Start with the system, not just the regulator.
The aim is to narrow the issue methodically. Diagnosis and first-visit resolution depend on the equipment, access, symptoms and parts required.
01
UNDERSTAND
Clarify the symptoms, affected products and recent changes.
02
INSPECT
Review relevant regulators, pressure equipment and wider dispense-system conditions.
03
ISOLATE
Narrow the issue to the most likely system area or component.
04
REPAIR / RECOMMEND
Carry out appropriate work where practical or explain the next step.
NEW SYSTEMS & ALTERATIONS
Pressure needs to be considered when the dispense system changes.
New installations, cooler changes, bar alterations, equipment replacement and other system changes can affect how the wider dispense system should be configured.
Beer Care considers relevant gas / pressure equipment as part of the overall draught-system installation and alteration process.
